The newborn days are here and gone in the blink of an eye. These moments and memories are so deserving of being preserved in your photo albums for your future selves. I know myself, from having two young ones close together, that these early days can feel all encompassing; sometimes we want time to stop and for moments to last forever and then sometimes, we just want those long nights to be over and for a 30 minute nap! One thing is certain, these days won’t be here forever and our memories as we grow older will inevitably fade. You will never regret spending the time capturing your baby and family as they grow.

Authentic, Natural and Relaxed Newborn Photography

My newborn sessions last around 1.5 - 2 hours and we can take all the breaks we need for feeds or cuddles.
Duration
Your gallery will include plenty of beautiful portraits of baby on their own - sleeping or awake, and all their gorgeous little details from tiny toes to downy hair and lashes. Sibling and family photographs are also included. After all, when your babies are grown, it is you they will want to see in the photographs.
Location
Newborn sessions take place in my cosy Darlington studio although some parents prefer to have it in their own home.
The studio is a calm and welcoming place for you to come as a family and I have everything you need - baby change, refreshments and entertainment for toddlers! Let me make you a cuppa and take care of you for the duration. I want you to feel relaxed and at home while we create something beautiful for you.

As early as you like! Any time after your 20 week scan, get in touch and we will pencil in a provisional date 2 weeks after your due date. When baby is born, we can adjust the date if we need to depending if they arrive earlier or later.

Between 1-3 weeks is the ideal time for newborns as baby will still have all the squishy newborn-ness which allows for certain photographs. Slightly older babies are also a dream to photograph though so if you wanted to wait a bit longer, that’s no problem at all!

It is totally normal for babies to cry and be unsettled. I have lots of experience in settling newborns and have a variety of techniques to settle baby so try not to worry. I want you to relax and leave this to me! We have plenty of time for changes, feeds and burps too so don’t feel rushed.

Well I have a toddler myself, so I get the worry! However, please know that the studio is a super safe space for your children to be themselves, however that manifests itself! My background has always been working with children and I have bags of patience to get them on side. When in doubt, non messy snacks work wonders too!
